Dr. Adams has twenty-five years of experience in infusion therapy in acute care, home care, management, education, and consulting.  She is certified in infusion nursing by the Infusion Nurses Credentialing Corporation and is also board certified as a clinical specialist in Medical Surgical Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Corporation. She holds a baccalaureate degree in nursing from Medical College of Georgia; a masters degree in science with a major in nursing from Georgia State University, and a doctorate of philosophy degree from Georgia State University. 

 

Currently, Dr. Adams is a nursing consultant with concentration in nursing research and education.  She is listed in Who’s Who in American Nursing and is the recipient of research grants.  She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, INS and NAVAN.

Kay Coulter, RN, CRNI

Cofounder, Executive Director, Primary Instructor & Board Member

 

Kay is a nationally recognized infusion therapy clinician who has practiced nursing for 30 years, with a special focus on infusion for the past 19 years.  As an Infusion Knowledge Instructor, she focuses on quality improvement programs, CRNI Review, and I.V. Therapy, with a specialty in facility and home-based Pain Management.  She is a professional nurse consultant who is qualified as an expert witness on clinical nursing matters. 

 

As a staff education nurse Kay has trained nursing staff in the importance of patient assessment and pain management. Her background includes acute care, long-term care, and home infusion.  She earned her infusion certification in 1987 and has presented numerous seminars to professional nursing staff in the classroom and continuing education settings.  Her reputation, as a quality infusion therapy educator, is well known on the local, state, and national level.  She is a personable and experienced facilitator.

 

Publications of her work have appeared in the Journal of Intravenous Nursing, Home Infusion Therapy Magazine, INS Newsline, and Vital Signs.  Kay has co-written books on I.V. techniques and is considered an expert in her field.

Michelle Franklin, BSN, RN, CRNI

Cofounder & Associate Clinical Consultant

 

Michelle Franklin has worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years.  She is an administrative clinical professional well regarded for her expertise in the healthcare industry. 

 

As a nurse consultant, Michelle has traveled nationwide presenting programs on specialized IV devices to assist nurses in risk prevention.  She has also served as an expert witness giving testimony for both plaintiff and defense, provided project management for newly developed programs, and consulted in all areas of intravenous therapy.  As Quality/Risk Management Coordinator for a local acute care facility her responsibilities included utilizing clinical comparative data to identify emerging issues and trends, ensuring compliance with JCAHO and other external agency standards, managing projects and facilitating performance improvement teams, as well as developing and implementing a hospital-wide patient safety program aimed at reducing risk. 

 

Michelle also has experience as an IV Therapist, Education Specialist, Director of Nursing, and Staff Nurse.  As a Staff Nurse, she planned and implemented care for babies in the level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for a large metropolitan hospital.  She received her BSN from the University of Illinois, Associate of Science-Nursing from Manatee Community College, and Associate of Arts-Liberal Arts from the University of Florida.  Certifications include Certified IV Nurse (CRNI), PICC Instructor and BLS Instructor Trainer.

Lee Melvin, RN, CRNI

Cofounder, Board Member & Primary Instructor

 

Lee Melvin is an infusion therapy clinician with a strong background in Midline & PICC placement and management.  As an Infusion Knowledge Instructor, he contributes information on current trends, legislative issues, and advancements in infusion technology.  His 19 years of nursing experience include hospital, long-term care, and product, manufacturer, and device inservice coordination.

 

Lee has served as a member of the N.C.O.E. for National Infusion Nurses Society, and has presented educational offerings on Infusion Therapy at local, state and national conferences.  Lee is a skilled, proficient clinician, with an excellent reputation.

Florette Redmond, R.Ph.

Cofounder & Associate Clinical Consultant

 

Florette Redmond received her B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Florida.  She has nine years of experience in hospital pharmacy and seven years of experience in home infusion therapy, holding positions from clinical staff to director.  She has served as an Administrator for the certified and licensed agencies for two home health care branches.

 

Florette currently practices as a Consultant and works part time in a local hospital.  She is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Maine Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the Florida Pharmacy Association.
